While December is not usually the best month for cricket news, 2009 was an exception for one member of Waltham St. Lawrence Cricket Club, as Under 13 player Tia Veevers participated in trials and was then selected for the Berkshire Girls County Cricket Squad. Tia has only been playing cricket for one year and has demonstrated excellent fielding skills and fitness combined with an eagerness to learn and improve her technique with both bat and ball. She will be training with the squad each Sunday during the winter and Spring and among her fixtures in 2010 she will be playing in the Isle of Wight. We at WSL wish her every success and our congratulations and hope that she can still find time to play in our Under 13 and Under 15 teams.
