Nothing
went right – Toss was lost we were inserted………making
136 was not a total to pressure the opposition!
It all started so well! With
Harris opening alongside Farnon, with Farnon rapidly
getting to a good start things looked good for decent
total. Then the ship started to sink, Farnon out played
on from Slade, Raja out for one off the same bowler.
Sharpe attempted to stop the rot as he has done previously
with a carefull 13, but was bowled off Dickenson. Harris
shortly followed on his bogey score of 45. Shah out
for 4, Chaudhry out for 7. Gearing tried to stick around
to bat the overs but was not helped by Owens Duck, although
Christodoulou manfully kept with him, the writing was
on the wall when Gearing was adjudged LBW off Deeks
for 26. Christodoulou ended the innings 15 not out.
Goring steared their way to
victory only losing 4 wickets – all the changes in the
field and the bowling just didn’t pay off for Waltham
this time. Missing key players back next week WSL ought
to look to a better performance. |
